Need an experienced person for Oracle DBA immediately….
Should be able to work with Oracle 10g RAC
Need someone who has worked in a Peoplesoft environment at some point
Must have good communication skills with cross cultural teams
Contract:
* 1 year contract
* Immediate start date
Required skills and experience level:
* At least 5 years industry experience as an Oracle DBA
* Solid foundation in Oracle 10g, 9i/8i internals and RDBMS;
* 10g RAC Experience is a must
* Proficiency with Windows/RHEL O/S, process monitoring, shell
scripting
* Good knowledge of Oracle technologies: install & configure,
ASM, CRS, RMAN, stand-by
* Clear oral and written communication in English
* Experience working with Asian teams is highly desirable
* Willing to Travel
Desired additional experience (nice-to-haves):
* Experience supporting enterprise Fin/SCM and HR PeopleSoft
databases
* Bachelor's or advanced degree
* Working knowledge of and experience supporting SQL Server db
platform
* Experience working within an ITIL framework
* Oracle Dataguard experience
* Oracle Replication - setup, maintenance & troubleshooting
* PL/SQL, VB/WSH, perl scripting experience
Typical responsibilities:
* Completing PeopleSoft database refreshes
* On-call production support nights, weekends and holidays
* Resolving performance issues in production databases
* Managing databases on clustered Linux nodes
* Applying Oracle updates/patches
* Use Explain Plan, tkprof AWR, Stats Pack - recommend & implement
performance improvements
* Perform backup/recovery of various components of the database
