Web/Application servers, configuring and tuning CentOS/RedHat Linux, Apache,
Tomcat, MySQL (backup/restore/replication/recovery).
- Source Control and build environment competencies.
-Have a good understanding of IP routing and common communication protocols
such as DNS, HTTP, SSH, etc
- System and Network security practices and disciplines need to be
demonstrated.
*Primary Responsibilities:*
- Plan and carry-out systems maintenance tasks and procedures
-Design, develop, test and implement automated scripts and other processes
to ensure efficient operation of the systems
- Pro-actively contribute and support the operations team; includes servers,
storage, databases, networking and other technologies under the direction
and supervision of senior engineers
-Kickstart server experience, Linux repository maintenance, and rpm package
creation/manipulation
-Assist with Open Source web servers and J2EE application servers
implementations, ie configuration, performance tuning, etc.
- Assist in data center and hardware provisioning and management
- Analyze and troubleshoot systems issues
- Perform proof of concept studies around new technologies
- Other duties as assigned
