SAP Basis Lead with DB2/AIX Portland, OR 6 months Need all inc rates "Responsible for day-to-day DB2 database administrative functions for the SAP landscape including maintenance and monitoring of database servers. Strong Basis background administering SAP on an AIX - DB2. Expert level technical skills including system administration, installation, configuration, and database management. Sound knowledge of Unix (IBM AIX), Database (IBM DB2) administration, scripting. Ideally, administrative experience on DB2 multi terabyte databases on a UNIX platform, with a minimum of three years supporting SAP applications on DB2 and AIX. Provide expert knowledge around failure isolation, troubleshooting performance problems, and troubleshooting SAP DB2 database errors. Database upgrade and patching experience in DB2 v9.x." Performs activities related to the installation, upgrade, and support services of SAP Database servers hosting Enterprise Netweaver, Portal, ECC 6, BW, and xAPP systems. Works closely with other technical teams such as SAP security, Unix, and SAP Functional teams to provide development support and technical assistance. Know-how and exposure to system refresh/copy, backups restore/recovery including disaster recovery, server sizing, consolidation and high availability. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. Serve as the SAP database implementation and technical guru for the organization and external relationships. Perform database administrative functions for the SAP landscape including maintenance and monitoring of database servers. Support the design, construction, and implementation phases of a system and/or upgrade project. Provide knowledge and resources in support of corrective maintenance and enhancements on SAP application, middleware, and infrastructure components. Work closely with SAP development, functional, and security teams to provide solutions for the entire SAP landscape. Provide ongoing SQL authoring and performance tuning expertise.
