I'm looking for someone who has more experience on the EC2, Apache/Tomcat,
UNIX, *monitoring side of operations* that could do

SCM/build/release for now rather than the reverse. *Ops/scale work in that
role is primary skill required*. SCM/build is secondary



*Role: Application Operations Engineer*

Location: San Francisco, CA

Duration: long term

Rate: Open



Responsibilities:

• Managing cloud infrastructure

• Installation and configuration of system software

• Help scale the application through system configuration (Tomcat,
Terracotta,etc.)

• Build and deployment management with Hudson, Nexus, Maven, etc.

• Performing regular application deployments to production

• Managing MySQL database (replication, backups, etc.)

• Managing user-access to production and development systems

• Monitoring production systems with Nagios



Skills:



• BS (MS preferred) from a top tier engineering school with a consistently
good

academic record

• 2+ years in application development or application operations

• Independent, self-driven, and passionate about delivering for the end-user

• Experience delivering effectively in a fast-paced environment, highly
adaptable

• Unix

• Bash/Python/other scripting language

• Ability to write advanced SQL queries

• MySQL/HBase Database Administration (desired)
