Job Description: --Provide second/third level technical support on a worldwide basis via phone, email, web and remote access to customer sites where Cisco Content, Caching, Video and Load Balancing technologies are deployed. --Determine methods and procedures for solving complex technical issues encompassing hardware, software and networking. --Function as technical lead for large customer accounts with multiple concurrent technical issues. --Formulate technical action plans for analyzing and resolving end-to-end solutions. --Generate clear and concise documentation in the form of case notes, technical tips and white papers. --Works on complex problems where analysis of situations requires in-depth fault analysis and troubleshooting skills. --Provide systems/product training. --Provide guidance & leadership to less experienced engineers. --Provides support on a world-wide basis. Required Skills: Strong communication skills, both oral and written 2+ years IP Networking experience 2+ years working knowledge of Networking industry, products and protocols Desired Skills --BS CS or BS EE desired In addition, strong preference for candidates with experience designing, deploying, supporting, debugging and administering within these products and areas: --Operating Systems, Microsoft, Linux, Unix --Analyzer experience on Sniffer Pro, ethereal or Server analyzer. --Web based protocols: ftp, http, ssl, tftp, rtp, telnet, ssh --Knowledge of port numbers the protocols operate on, iso/osi model, specific function of each layer from Ethernet, Routing and Switching plus the specific application (L4 to 7) The ideal candidate also has the following experience & capabilities: --Capable of being successful with only minimal supervision --Determines own methods and procedures on new assignments within the Cisco process framework --Must have proven crisis management skills --Ability to work with lower level CSEs, end-users, and internal engineering departments toward problem resolution --Ability to perform complex web based searches for information essential to resolving customer issues --Must possess the ability to work on complex problems by performing detailed analysis of customer critical situations with in-depth troubleshooting skills --Ability to manage rapidly changing priorities. --Must be a team player and work well in a team setting. --CCNA Certification strongly desired Typically requires BS in a technical field (CS/EE preferred)or equivalent plus 2-5 years related experience. This position must reside in Boxborough, MA.
