Ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of how the SQL Server database engine works, including but not limited to: Indexing, physical database design best practices, and the SQL Query Optimizer. Good understanding of the SSIS framework and ETL fundamentals. Ability to write and troubleshoot T-SQL, particularly including tuning and optimization. Must be able to understand the difference between T-SQL that just returns the results asked for and good T-SQL. Strong troubleshooting skills for both stored procedures and SSIS are absolutely necessary. Demonstrated mastery of ETL and troubleshooting on very large databases.
