*Responsibilities*:
· Works closely with applications development to ensure
· Database design meets business
requirements
· Administer databases to ensure zero production
downtime
· Ensure databases are backed up and
recoverable
· Anticipate and countermeasure problems related to
database
· Performance and
execution
· Ensure naming conventions & standards are
enforced
· Create and maintain corporate data models
· Monitor and maintain
databases
· Assist application developers in database access techniques and
resolving connectivity
issues
*Required Skills*:
· 3+ years’ experience as a DB2 LUW
DBA
· Familiarity with DB2 LUW v8, v9 and v9.5 database architecture &
configuration
· Tune database / SQL / system to make the most efficient use of
resources
· Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules /
priorities
· Skilled in the use of native backup and recovery tools and
utilities
· Knowledgeable of database design and
construction
· Strong analytic and problem solving
skills
· Knowledgeable of database access
techniques
· Provide on-call support and work overtime when
necessary
· Good communication
skills.
· Willing to share knowledge and experience, has the "heart of a
teacher" and is a strong team player
