Role : Data Modeler/Architect Location : Orlando, FL Description: We're seeking a data modeler for multiple projects that will implement solutions using Informatica and other RDBMS (Oracle n.n, SQL Server n, etc.). This individual will provide analysis and data modeling expertise to review existing subject models and identify areas for redesign. Candidate should possess excellent skills in data modeling, communication, documentation, coordinating activities, working with others, problem solving, and delivering high quality solutions on time. Requirements: 7 years experience in relational and dimensional data modeling Maintains awareness of data architecture / modeling best practices Excellent written and oral communication skills Must be a self starter and able to work with little supervision Solid experience in Business Intelligence - Strong knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL and SQL*PLUS Must have Oracle n.n experience (Informatica and SQL server database experience a plus) Experience with data modeling tools (Embarcadero ER/Studio experience a plus) Solid problem solving skills Solid analytical and communicational skills Excellent documentation and writing skills Education: A four-year college degree in information systems, computer science or engineering (master's degree preferred). Complete Description: Works in coordination with the Project Manager, technical lead, business areas, and project team members to evaluate any existing data models within the current environment. Analyzes requirements to develop an initial design concept and technical approach. Identifies impact of existing models with respect to new frameworks. Works with data analysts to identify requirements. Maintains and adheres to data architecture standards. Designs conceptual and logical models for data warehouse or data marts to support business intelligence reporting Facilitates discussions of physical database designs changes with database administrators Strong relational and dimensional data modeling and database design skills Ability to effectively manage the balance of current and future needs in data model design Identifies data issues and develops plans to resolve. Identifies tasks and estimates for implementation and provides information to the technical lead and Project Manager. Manages data models using Embarcadero ER/Studio. Completes project documentation as defined by the project. Must have solid working knowledge of the following: Database and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design techniques Database Administration principles An understanding of the (implementation) language and environment. Data integrity and migration activities to improve operating efficiency. Skills: Good communication and documentation Ability to coordinate activities, work well with others, and deliver high quality solutions on time Programming skills (Mainframe and web based) fluency of ideas detail-oriented Proficient in the use of flash disks, in-circuit emulators and program testing software, such as Mercury Interactive LoadRunner.
