Web Services a). Should use "RESTful" paradigm b). Should be built using the SPRING framework, or have experience in SPRING Java programming. 2). Middle-tier a). Familiar with deployment of Components that function as JMS Listeners i ). Transformation of Data performed here as needed ii). Components service multiple endpoints iii). APACHE "Camel" Framework experience a BIG plus b). JMS/ESB Experience i ). Messaging is HUGE, and JMS Messaging is the standard ii). ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) products are all JMS based, but they have special attributes for client programming, failover/HA, etc. Messaging Architects are big in demand for that reason, but ESBs are usually proprietary in some way(s). So JMS is the most "open" platform iii). We will be using (initially) JMS as hosted under WebLogic. Those are the biggest considerations.
