Job Title: Oracle Systems DBA Location: Mettawa, IL (Onsite) Duration: 6 months (initial work order will be for 6 months) EAD, GC and US Citizen only Candidates should be of CONSULTANT level with 10+ years experience as a Systems DBA This team is handling the divesting of HSBC systems and preparing them for Capital One. These DBAs will be restructuring HSBC's existing systems, pulling out the componets that will be moved to Capital One, building the databases for Capital One and then fixing the HSBC system to work without the parts that were taken out. They will not be doing Logical design but they need to be able to take the logical designs and create the physical databases that will be needed. Technical environment: UNIX Platform - Must have experience with Solaris and Linux. They were a Solaris environment but have been moving towards Linux for the last two years. Languages: PL/SQL and shell scripting Tools Used: Erwin, Toad, OEM, GRID. (GRID is an enhancement for OEM and allows more functionality. This is a nice to have and they are flexible on that) Oracle versions in use: 9i, 10g, 11g. 9i is being phased out and not that important. 10g will be the crucial skill and they should at least know the differences between 10g and 11g if they do not have that experience. Will be working on multiple initiatives involving CapitalOne Divestiture along with the HSBC component (RAC) Should be comfortable with ETL, SQL Tuning, Disaster Recovery and setup of system Should be able to LEAD and take charge of initiatives, very good communication skills, advise and consult, understand environment and escalation (not sitting around waiting to be told what to do) Should have Strong T-SQL and scripting and Solaris and Linux Languages: PL/SQL, UNIX shell scripts,etc Data Models: converting Logical to Physical, (need to understand and have past experience converting logical to physical = should have some experience with Erwin (ERD and terminology); laying down tables | Will NOT be doing logical modeling) Platforms: UNIX (AIX/SunOS-Solaris/Linux) Tools: Erwin, Toad, OEM, GRID control, etc Oracle version 10g/11G (9i is a plus) HA (high availability) solutions: RAC, RMAN, VCS Clustering, ASM.
