*Title:* *Python & Django Developer* posted on 2013-07-15 09:10:02 *Job Description:*Location: Washington, DC Duration: Long-Term (One year +) Salary/Rate: Depends on Experience Visa Status: US Citizens/GC Holders/H1Bs The Senior Application Developer will develop online applications and web interfaces in a dynamic and changing industry. Working with a team of front end developers, producers and product owners, the Senior Application Developer will be involved in all phases of development, from needs assessments to implementation and training, including technical analysis, software and environment architecting, coding, testing, maintaining, and supporting. Responsibilities- Develop Django web applications to meet stated business requirements. - Lead the Application Development team in peer reviews, critiques, and knowledge sharing by pushing the boundaries in application development. - Head up project planning including requirements review, estimates, and discovery. - Maintain existing content management systems, including technical troubleshooting to diagnose production or application issues, and assist with QA testing and bug fixes. - Lead third party developers in the construction of new application development projects. This will require effective planning, documentation and oversight. Minimum Education & Experience BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience with a minimum of five (5) years of experience. Knowledge & Skill Requirements - Exceptional experience and proficiency with the Django framework, utilizing both Python and PostgreSQL databases. - Knowledgeable about the latest trends in application development, including python packages, message queues, GIS and NoSQL databases, continuous integration testing, building solution stacks from front to back, multilayer caching methods, API's, and device-specific solutions. - The ability to write clean, well-documented code. - The ability to work on multiple concurrent projects is essential. Strong self motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision. - Experience working on large-scale web media-based solutions, especially in regards of scaling large production environments. - Must be a team-oriented individual, energetic, result & delivery oriented, with a keen interest on quality and the ability to meet deadlines.
