*Duration: 6+ months Contract* *Pay: Must be competitive* Position: Senior Programmer Analyst *Objective: * Functions under general direction during development and implementation phases of a project, and under general supervision during scope, proposal, and design phases. Possesses competence to work on the most complex programming and fairly complex analysis assignments. Regularly provides guidance to and assists in training less experienced programmers. Designs, codes, tests documents, debugs, and installs the most complex programming logic for existing or new applications and may require guidance on the most complex. Supports and maintains several production systems. *Key Responsibilities: * Analysis: Under very general direction, gathers and analyzes technical information for designing new systems, changing existing systems, resolving problems, and answering questions. * * *Technical Skills* *Knowledge of UNIX as well as Oracle database, PL/SQL and Oracle Forms is required. Knowledge of Pro*C, Solaris and Java * *Design:* Under very general direction, gathers and analyzes technical information for designing new systems, changing existing systems, resolving problems, and answering questions. Prepares detailed specifications, and both internal and external applications documentation. *Responsible for the development of detailed unit test plans* Participates in the development of overall system test plans and their execution. On new projects and modifications of moderate scope, interacts with user staff directly to define and develop appropriate approach to business solutions and alternatives. Establishes construction time frames and estimates of effort. Schedules and conducts internal design reviews. *Construction:* Codes, tests, documents, debugs, and installs programming logic for existing or new applications. Acts as ‘lead programmer’ in the development and execution of overall system test plans. Monitors entry-level programmers including reviewing their work and providing guidance. * * *Implementation and Support:* Routinely follows up on all installations. Prepares and conducts review of production turnover. For assigned production systems, assures that incidents are resolved on a timely basis and assists operations in meeting production schedules. Checks work of new programmers. Prepares Recognizes and recommends enhancements to production systems and processes. *General Administration:* Recommends changes to MIS standards and procedures to project leader or manager. Continually monitors progress against schedules and proactively reports deviations to management. Submits required time and status reports as scheduled. Conforms to published MIS standards, and internal project team guidelines and processes. Regularly assists in training less experienced staff members. Enhances working knowledge of company business environment. *Skills Required:* Proficiency in programming languages/development tools, knowledge of SDLC, organizational ability to multitask, PC skills, teamwork, and good communication skills.
