*JOB DESCRIPTION:*
We are looking for a Java Developer.
The ideal candidate has both excellent technical and communication skills
and is able to work comfortably with both front-line engineers and
management stakeholders. The software development team is responsible for
building the next generation media asset management, collaboration,
editorial, and distribution platform.
*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
· Develop a cloud-based media asset system for large files and
heavy metadata
· Integrate with 3rd party partners in storage, delivery, search,
and streaming
· Create new technologies in the fields of:
· Search
· Big file content management
· Big data metadata storage and lookup
· DRM and content protection
· Video streaming
*REQUIREMENTS:*
· Bachelor’s Degree in CS, Distributed Systems, EE, or Physics from
an accredited institution
· 3+ years Java coding experience
· Ability to create REST/SOAP-based APIs
· 3+ Years of MySQL, Oracle, or Postgres
· SQL queries (left, right, outer, inner joins)
· Types of index
· Case statements
· Web application implementation and web services
· JSP, Servlets, MVC, HTML, XML, XSLT, AJAX, Javascript
· Spring JDBC and dependency injection
· Significant experience in transaction management and distributed
systems
· Experience in building fault tolerance applications and systems
· Ability to troubleshoot applications with:
* -* Jconsole, - Thread dumps - JMX - JProfiler
· Experience with Agile & Test Driven Development
· Linux commands and basic administration
· Good communication skills
*DESIRABLE SKILLS:*
· Java performance tuning
· High performance system architecture
· Performance monitoring & memory management
· Database locking, synchronization, and avoiding deadlocks skills
