Working with outstanding technology and technologists, you will set the UX/UI strategy and direction; work with teams to define the best flows and UI for our application users; partner with architecture and other development teams to make UX/UI an integral part of Railinc’s technology stack and of our excellent products. *Responsibilities/Performance Objective* - Take the lead of the UX group, review and adjust direction and strategy as appropriate within the first 90 days. - During the first 30 days determine status of various engagements with project teams and determine best way to support their needs. - Within the first six months define a strategy and start executing said strategy to dramatically improve the acceptance of UX/UI among the various development groups. - Within the first 90 days, work with architecture to assess role of UX/UI and how to integrate into architecture effort. - Within the first 30 days, integrate with and support AAR/Commercial efforts in the UX/UI area using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AJAX, and ActionScript. Support migration efforts of Flex as appropriate. Leverage Java knowledge to ensure best integration is developed. *Requirements* - You need to speak the lingo (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AJAX, Java, JSPs, RESTful services, various frameworks and APIs, SQL, etc.); be an expert flow and screen designer; know and practice excellent software engineering; have extensive experience with multi-tier architectures (web, app, and database servers). - You must be on top of new technologies and directions, including mobile. - We are Agile and want an Agilist. Just as important, you must be a leader with high Emotional Intelligence (EQ) willing to lead the team and the organization to ever better user experiences.
