*QA Automation Analyst*
*Chicago, IL (local only)
12+ months*
• Experience in creation of automated tests from the scratch using HP Quick
Test Professional and VBScript for applications on multi technology
platforms
• Strong understanding of testing principles with the ability to decompose
manual application test workflows for automation coding readiness
• Familiarity with multiple automation frameworks
• Must have strong database skills to prepare and create data repository
content
• Strong understanding of basic SQL queries, GUI design standards,
especially as they relate to test automation object recognition issues
• Sound knowledge of object repositories, standard & custom checkpoints,
parameterization, and user defined functions, recovery scenarios,
descriptive programming and VBScript
• Ability to execute and maintain existing automated tests
• Experience working with multiple add-ins of QTP is a big plus
• Strong knowledge of Quality Center for test management and as platform
for storing and execution of automated scripts, results analysis and defect
management
• Ability to work effectively in both Windows and UNIX environments
• Good knowledge of SQL and XML required
• Deep understanding of SDLC and software testing
• Effective written and oral communication skills with ability to work in
fast paced environment and meet the dead lines diligently
• Understand the Software Development Life Cycle and Quality Assurance
concepts
• Ability escalate issues and risks and work closely with Program Manager
and Automation Leads
• Ability to be detailed oriented and work independently on multiple
projects
DESIRED SKILLS
Minimum of 5+ solid years of experience in QTP test automation system
architecture design and implementation. At least 3-5 years Quality Center
experience required. Other tools/skills that would be expected:
• Familiarity with automation framework development
• Familiarity with Agile, RUP, Waterfall
• Solid understanding of SQL to develop small queries and/or execute
• Ability to write, run, edit and update QC-based manual test cases as
required
• 3-5 years automating test cases with HP Quick Test Pro
• 3-5 years using development tools
• Knowledge and full understanding of the QTP Object Repository
• Custom Library development in QTP
• Web protocol knowledge
• Strong Communication Skills
• Other Automation Tools in addition to QTP
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
• WSS SharePoint
