Equity INVESTMENT APPLICATIONS – support analyst/developer



Overview



The Equity Investments Application team is seeking a hybrid
analyst/developer with strong technology implementation and systems
analysis skills to deliver and support technical solutions that enable the
investment process. The analyst will work with Wellington’s Investment
teams covering functions such as global portfolio management, research,
investment risk management, hedge fund management, and product management.



Daily activities will include application and reports support, systems and
data analysis, requirements gathering and documentation, hands on
development, application design, code reviews, implementation, and
testing.  The individual will work with the Equity team to trace investment
data flows/ anomalies/issues through comprehensive analysis, and
remediate/enhance existing Oracle implementations for the Equity
Investments business. In addition the responsibilities will include
designing and implementation of very efficient PL/SQL functions, stored
procedures. Database design and performance tuning experience is a must.



Prior experience with Oracle reporting solutions, preferably in the
financial services industry is required.  Work requires solid mathematical
skills and an excellent problem solving acumen.





Keys to the Position:

•          This position is 60% Development and 40% Systems Analysis.  The
Development is with Oracle Reports and the analysis is understanding the
tables and data when things are not working correctly

•          The majority of work will be done in the Oracle environment –
Oracle 11G, Oracle Reports, Forms, PL/SQL and other Oracle reporting tools
(Experience with 6i is fine but we are working with 11G)

•          Not looking for heads down coders. Must be a very strong
Developer that can support and interact with the business.

•          Must have strong expertise in Oracle reporting for Financial
Services

•          Financial services experience is a must - Candidate needs to
have an understanding of Equities.  Derivatives would be a big +

•          Excellent client Interfacing and communication skills are
required

•          This is a Senior Level Individual Contributor role.



Qualifications

•          5+ years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL

•          5+ years of experience with Oracle Tools, Reports (including 11g)

•          3+ years of database design and performance tuning

•          3+ years of experience with UNIX, will be required to write some
scripts including Perl

•          3+ years of experience in the financial services/investment
management area

•          Excellent verbal and written communications skills

•          Ability to work independently and own projects/tasks from
beginning to end

•          Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
