In addition to your involvement in typical programming functions, you’ll
collaborate with management on projects to include the co-development of
project proposals, appropriate timeframes and delivery dates, and
methodologies to be used to deliver the desired outcomes.
Major responsibilities include the management of technology projects to
ensure goals are accomplished for the purpose of increasing communications
and efficiency in support of the overall organizational goals while
providing leadership and guidance to the IT department.

*Essential Job Functions*


- Participate in the establishment and enforcement of team software
development lifecycle standards in compliance with enterprise and local
policy. Execute a disciplined approach to project management, change
management, documentation standards, and excellence in communication.
Collaborate with all stake holders.

- Provide leadership for the IS team in the absence of the Information
Systems Manager, in accordance with enterprise and local policy.

- Work with Information Systems Manager to establish an internal mentoring
plan and mentor team members ensuring the operation, coding and rationale
of each software system is understood and that each team member may achieve
the knowledge and capability to support and continue programming work on
every Kysor Panel Systems software application within the purview of the
team.

- Consult with management on projects to include the co-development of
project proposals, appropriate timeframes and delivery dates, and
methodology to be used to deliver the desired outcomes.

- Lead discussion and facilitate meetings with Associates, Managers and
Partners to analyze potential system automation, overall process
improvement projects, and system feature improvements.

- Conceive, experiment with, and present architectural approaches for
software applications, including web, client, server, and others. Design
new software applications. Ensure architectural integrity and consistency
across the entire product.

- Provide detailed project documentation including plans, stakeholders,
dependencies, interactions, schedules, narratives, operations, maintenance,
business processes, feasibility studies, complexity estimates and usage
guides.

- Design and code screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, reports, and
interfaces with other systems

- Convert designs and specifications into computer code.

- Research and evaluate software and hardware improvements that will assist
in programming projects or to be introduced as new program platforms.

- Maintain in-house programs and third party programs after implementation,
to include improving, troubleshooting, operating and documenting issues and
features of the software as assigned.

- Design database tables and fields and program file formats for in-house
applications that work concurrently with in-place systems and ensure data
integrity.

- Research and implement new programming methodologies to help speed
application development.

- Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries, errors,
problems, or questions with programs.

- Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic,
coding, testing, changes and corrections.

- Provide training to all system users, especially preparing department
trainers and super users to convey requisite software utilization
techniques.

- Make suggestions for efficiencies, procedural, and general improvements
as well as communicating problems, concerns, and issues to the IS Manager.

- Provide backup department leadership in the absence of the IS Manager, in
accordance with departmental procedures and in coordination with IS Manager
and senior leadership.

- Enforce Manitowoc Walk-ins and IT departmental policies.

- Provide technical guidance to staff regarding application and system
programming and analysis, best practices, functional cross training, code
tours and departmental procedures.

- Manage assigned projects from inception to completion.

- Fulfill the financial control and risk management responsibilities
inherent in the position.

all times

- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of information technology
experience required.

- Must have working knowledge of engineering design work, been engaged in
both a development and maintenance focused programmers role, solid
experience leading projects from inception to completion, and highly
skilled in training elements connected to end user interface.

- Should have thorough understanding of the business environment, spanning
all disciplines and the interplay that occurs in the day-to-day business
environment.

- Manufacturing automation experience highly desired.

- Incumbent must have pervasive knowledge in the following languages or
programming software: Progress 4GL, MS Visual C# .Net (3-5 yrs.), the
latest Microsoft Windows desktop, mobile and server technologies, C++ (2+
yrs.), JavaScript, AJAX, LINQ, ODBC, T-SQL, Inventor, AGILE/SCRUM,
ObjectARX/DBX, Batch Command Language, Object Oriented programming, Active
X, and COM, Entity Framework, LINQ, SQL Server Stored Procedures, HTML5,
and Design Patterns as implemented with Microsoft Enterprise Library, Team
Foundation Services, SharePoint development, SQL Reporting Services, Model
View Controller Paradigm 4.

- Incumbent must have exceptional interpersonal communication skills, oral
and written.

- Incumbent must have knowledge of project management methodologies and
ability to document, communicate and implement a project plan. Pluses will
include ability to engage in analytical investigative process with end
users to determine root cause of a problem and then design an effective
solution meeting all of the needs of the end user.
