3-6 Months Contract
*Need Local Web Developers or Front End Developers to IL who can do
in-person interview.*
*Candidates will need to be local or at least able to attend a face to face
interview because the client requires meeting them and all the work must be
onsite. *
Client is seeking a talented web designer/developer for a long term
contract assignment with an educational institution in Chicago, IL
This client is rebuilding their internal employee and student Portal with
PeopleSoft 9.1.
Responsibilities include:
Develop site navigation by categorizing content; funneling traffic
through content.
Develop site content and graphics by coordinating with copywriters and
graphic artists; designing images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, etc.
Ensuring cross-platform compatibility
Monitor performance and results; identifying and evaluating improvement
options
Protect site by designing and installing security precautions
Maintain site appearance by developing content and display standards
Maintain a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly
in regard to accessibility, usability, and emerging technologies, and keep
team members informed as appropriate, with a view to incorporating these in
future projects and staying ahead of the market
Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and
trends
Provide accurate timing estimates on work
Contribute to documentation (instructional and technical specification)
Train other non-technical staff
Skills/Qualifications:
Web Graphic Design
Web User Interface Design
Excellent HTML, XHTML, CSS programming skills
Developing cross-browser and cross-platform compatible solutions
Exceptional JavaScript programming skills
Experience with JQuery
Knowledge of working with JavaScript frameworks to create rich
interactive content
Experience integrating with server-side code to produce dynamic pages
Excitement about emerging web technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3
Good understanding of Web Accessibility
Experience working with version control systems such as SVN
Some experience in AJAX techniques
Written and verbal Communication
Knowledge of HTML Email best practice desirable
Experience developing on the PeopleSoft Interaction Hub preferred
