SQL Server Developer

Must have experience in SSAS and T-SQL
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for design and development of SQL Database
components that meet business/system requirements.
- Translation of complex business problems into innovative
technical solutions through Analysis, Design and Development.
- Architect / Design / Develop SQL databases, Stored Procedures,
DTS Packages to support / maintain corporate databases.
- Maintain existing data warehouse and analysis cubes along with
the front-end web application written in ASP.Net/C#
- Analyze data requirements and develop dimensional data models to
support data warehouse initiatives. Apply strong dimensional modeling skills
and an understanding of KPIs, common set of measures/metrics, star/snowflake
schemas etc.
- Unit Testing with input into formal QA Test Plans and Scripts,
- Maintain Process Documentation, Data Dictionaries and Data Flow
Diagrams.
- Demonstrates expertise in database concepts, best practices, and
procedures.
- Lead review and design walkthroughs for database design.
- Leverage SQL objects to build solutions to complex business
problems. Translate complex business problems into high performance /
innovative system solutions
- Work closely with other database analysts, system developers and
operational staff.
- Provide database administration functions to production, QA and
development environments.
- Optimize & maintain database performance/availability for the
production environment.
- Provide 24x7 support. On-call time required.
- Responsible for design and development of multi-million record
transactional databases that directly impact the revenue generation of the
firm.
- Provide hands-on mentoring to other SQL Developers
- Work with IT Engineering management to refine development
standards, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, development partners,
and clients to translate business strategies, initiatives, goals, and
objectives into data management proposals.
- Build and maintain ASP.NET / C# websites that support reporting
and analysis cube pivot tables.
- Write SQL CLR stored procedures utilizing Visual Studio .Net to
consume remote API data.
- Design and build SQL Server Analysis Cubes and write
applications to consume the cube data.
- Develop database solutions by designing proposed system;
defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security,
back-
up, and recovery specifications.
- Participate in database design discussions, collaborating with
developers to ensure the database designs are accurate and that they
support efficient reporting, and meet corporate architectural
strategies
- Develop and maintain enterprise data architecture and
administration standards including standardization of table names, column
names,
data types, etc. Enforce semantic consistency across
enterprise.
Required Skills:
- Must have 8-10 years of
Architecture/Design/Development/Management experience with SQL Server with
focus on Data warehousing and Data Analytics
- Solid working knowledge of SQL and database techniques /
concepts and performance tuning
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft SQLserver 2005, 2008 database
development for multi-national applications.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing, OLAP, cube design,
dimension structure etc.
- Proven experience in developing code for scalable high speed
data access, storage, modification
- Experience in writing DTS Packages for interface with
Applications
- Experience in database administration tasks and data design
- Experience in design / development of n-tier systems
- Strong understanding of traditional development Project Life
Cycle
- Strong problem solving and system debugging skills
- Ability to lead/mentor SQL Database Developers in the
Design/Development phases of the Project Life Cycle
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with Architects, Project
Managers, System Analysts, Quality Assurance, and other IT staff members.
- Ability to communicate project status, estimate level of
design/development effort, identify and clearly explain problems and
procedures.
- Strong organizational and time management skills required in
order to manage/work on multiple assignments concurrently under tight
deadlines
- Work outside of normal business hours may be required
- Demonstrated experience and communication skills are required to
collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups.
- Expertise in SSAS, SSRS, SSIS is required.
- Expertise in SQL CLR - development and deployment using Visual
Studio 2008 (C#) and above.
