*Job Title: QA Tester Location: Birmingham,ALDuration: 6-8 month* *GC AND US Citizen.* *Candidate must have at least 5 years experience in IT and experience managing and/or coordinating the work of other testers. Some PM type experience a plus.* *Experience:At least 5 years experience in IT. Must have 4 year degree with emphasis on Technology. Health care background is highly recommended.Qualifications:* *Superior Communication skills – Verbal and written. They have to be able to communicate well with individuals and small groups when eliciting information for test cases and plans, as well as be able to communicate to large groups of stakeholders to present testing status and review deliverables. Negotiation skills – They need to have the confidence to recommend testing ideas and strategies and the skills to convince (in a consultative, collaborative way) the IT Solution Owner and PM’s that their suggestions have merit. And, if that fails, they have to be willing to "let go" of those ideas and work with the team to see how they can best add value. Significant experience creating, maintaining, and exercising test plans. Significant experience creating, updating, reviewing, and executing test cases and documenting findings. Experience managing and/or coordinating the work of other testers. * *Some PM type experience preferred. Experience with automated testing tools – preferably QTP for functional test case automation and RPT for load and performance testing. Experience testing distributed applications. Experience writing queries to validate data updates or create test data. Experience reviewing requirements for testability. Experience with SDLC methodology; Waterfall, agile, iterative techniques. Experience with MKS ALM tool preferred. Experience with some sort of tool to document Test Cases, executions, and findings is a requirement. Understanding of importance of traceability, black box and white box testing, prioritization of testing, what makes a good test case, good test plan, and what should be captured in a finding. ISTQB certifications preferred. Experience as a developer preferred. Ability to work well under pressure on multiple projects in a fast paced, complex, dynamic environment and set priorities, execute tasks, and meet deadlines. Strong technical skills and the ability to grasp IT infrastructures, technologies, and architectures.
