Role: Business Analyst

Location: Columbus OH & Chicago IL



Requirement Phase


·   Gather business requirements through a variety of techniques (e.g.
workshops, work sessions and interviews)
·   Analyze business requirements to understand the business needs and
determine how the application can best functionally fulfill those needs
·   Ensure requirements are detailed and can be supported by the technology
and that the project team is developing a common understanding of
requirements
·   Responsible for detailed functional specifications, ensuring that they
combine knowledge of what the business wants with knowledge of how the
application is built
·   Review specifications with the development team to ensure common
understanding
·   Load requirements and specifications into Quality Center/ALM and create
linkages between business and functional requirements

 Design Phase


·   Validate that technical designs have been reviewed by the project team
and conform to business requirements and the goals of the organization

 Build and Test Phases


·   Confirm test cases have the appropriate granularity and have
traceability back to business requirements; Confirm that test cases are
linked to specifications in Quality Center
·   During IST, support test case execution by the QA team, assisting with
result validation and defect triage
·   During UAT, perform defect investigation and resolution
·   Provide assessments of Change Requests after investigation by the team;
Responsible for the creation of appropriate re-testing regimes and
regression testing of such changes
·   During Implementation, participate in the implementation planning
activities

·   7+ years of IT Business Analysis experience
·   Excellent core systems analyst skills
·   Working knowledge of project management methodologies and associated
project life cycle deliverables
·   Expert at writing detailed, actionable requirements and/or functional
specifications
·   Capable of reviewing project deliverables for quality and delivery
assurance
·   Proactive in learning the business processes, data flows, and systems
functionality in order to support the
·   Business Analysts on the team and provide guidance/advice to business
partners
·   Proficient in documenting use cases, process flow diagrams (i.e., swim
lane diagrams)
·   Knowledge of one or more Corporate Finance functions (e.g., Regulatory
Reporting, General Ledger, MIS, Reference Data)
·   Strong data query and analysis skills, including proficiency in SQL
·   Expert-level skills with data manipulation tools, such as Access and
Excel
·   Proficient in use of HP Quality Center/ALM
·   Investment banking product knowledge – bonds, equities, debt
securities, derivatives, and loans.
·   US Regulatory Reporting knowledge and an understanding of Accounting
terminology and practices is desirable
·   Experience with Data Warehousing/ETL technologies and working knowledge
of basic data warehousing design concepts
