JOB DESCRIPTION: Java Developer (for an Application Support Role): Location: Atlanta, GA Duration: 6 Month Contract (IMMEDIATE NEED!) Local to GA Needed !! Must have strong Application Support Experience !! Position Summary Description: The Java Developer candidate will be responsible for triaging web portals production issues and creating required Java/J2ee tools/portals, scripts to reduce system fallouts/issues. This role will provide assessment and resolution of all incoming web portal production Issues, escalating to the development team only when an issue cannot be resolved independently. The role operates in an Agile environment and requires an excellent understanding of the full software lifecycle, including functional requirement gathering, design and development, testing of software applications and documenting requirements and technical specifications. Key Areas of Responsibility: Collaborate with customers and various businesses and Information Technology teams to effectively address and resolve day to day issues. Research reported web and application server’s production and data issues. Creating Java tools/portals to resolve system issues, fallouts. Determine and document root cause of issues through partnership with the development teams. Basic Qualifications: 3 to 5 years of IT experience , especially working experience in application development and production support roles in Java/j2ee area. Extensive Experience in: Java, J2EE, Javascript, SVN, HTML5, frameworks such as Spring MVC, Struts, etc., JavaScript frameworks like jQuery mobile, SQLlite, XML/XSLT/XPath, Web Services (REST). Data-modeling and database design skills with any of the following databases: Oracle, MySQL or SQL Server Any of the following App Servers: Weblogic, JBoss, Tomcat, or Websphere working knowledge preferred. Preferred Experience in: Enterprise monitoring tools, administering J2EE based application server, performance tuning. A team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills. The person should be able to work closely with customers (internal and external), as well as onsite and offshore team members. Requires an excellent understanding of the full software lifecycle, including functional requirement gathering, design and development, testing of software applications and documenting requirements and technical specifications and the ability to work with architects and system analysts. Ability to multi-task while maintaining high quality of deliverables. Solid understanding of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle. Education: B.S. or B.A required, preferred in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
