*Status : EAD, GC, Citizen* Job Title : Embedded Software Engineer Location : Herndon, VA . Duration : 12+ Months Job Description: We are seeking an innovative, creative and experienced Software Engineer--Embedded who is ready for the challenges, responsibilities, and rewards that come with working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Design, develop, test and integrate networking and control related functionality within a satellite broadband router and related environments. • Participate in determining the future direction of the Satellite Router and related products in the areas infrastructure, redundancy, scalability, and 24x7 availability. • Participate in designing, developing, testing, integrating, and supporting a line of satellite networking related products. • Other duties as assigned. Required Experience: Education: BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering Experience in software development with several of the following: 2+ years of experience on Embedded Linux driver/kernel development. 3+ years of experience developing software on 32 bit or 64 bit RISC processors such as the ARM or PPC based systems. 3+ years of experience writing device drivers for a variety of peripherals such as I2C, SPI, Serial, PCIe, Switch, DDR3. 5+ years of experience developing software in C and or C++. 3+ years of experience developing software using debuggers. 3+ years of experience developing multi-threaded software applications or kernel modules. 2+ years of experience developing socket based client/server applications. 3+ years of experience developing/Integrating/Debugging Bootloaders for Linux, vxWorks, or Green Hills. 2+ years of experience developing processor/FPGA protocol interfaces. 5+ years of experience developing on a complex RTOS such as vxWorks, or Linux. 3+ years of experience interfacing with RF based modules such as tuners, demodulators etc.. Professional Qualities: • Must be able to work in a fast paced development environment. • Must be able to analyze and solve technical problems related to communications networks in a client/server environment.
