*Sr. Linux/System Engineer Integrator*
*Location: Houston, TX**Duration: Long Term*
*Job Description*:
This position requires in-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems. This
person will join a team with the specific goal of providing key technical
research, design, troubleshoot and configure Linux servers, desktops, Linux
clusters for a major Oil and Gas company on a "global" scale.
·
*5+ years’ experience in systems support/administration in a large
environment*·
*Strong Linux OS experience (3+ years in depth real world experience)*·
*Strong shell scripting experience*. Experience of manipulating
desired tasks and outcomes via custom (bash, csh, ksh, etc) scripts.
· Proven track record of Linux server/desktop builds, support and
deployment.
· Creation of custom Linux builds.
· RPM building, spec file creation
· Knowledge of the Linux Boot/Build process (E.g. understanding of
Anaconda)
· Experience in developing automated kickstart/builds of Linux
systems.
· Experience in supporting, administering, and deploying Windows
servers/desktops
· MySQL database skills (usage and commands)
· Experience in PHP, C++, Ruby, or other programming
language development.
· Source code management experience.
*Desired Skills:*· Strong Linux OS experience (Linux and Windows) 5
years in depth real world experience.
· Linux compute clusters, with experience in job schedulers such
as: SGE, LSF, PBS, etc.
· Proven track record of large compute cluster builds, support and
deployment
· Skills in deploying, supporting, and configuring high performance
mass storage devices (NAS, SAN, iSCSI, etc.)
· 3+ years of experience in programming language development
· Expertise in Web Development technologies
*Experience with the following is also preferred:*· Oil & Gas
experience at major or super major company
· Participation in architecture and design phases of projects
· Understanding of SVN (or other ) source control and how to use it
· 3+ years of experience large corporate environment
· Ability to write and present design documents
· Strong team and interpersonal skills
