The Senior Application Developer is responsible for developing all advanced aspects of presentation-tier and middle-tier web applications using Java and J2EE in the WebWork framework. Qualified applicants must have knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) including: client requirements gathering, design specifications, solution development and testing of client applications, client support, training, and systems integration. The Senior Application Developer will begin to assume lead level responsibility as it pertains to overseeing work efforts of junior Developer resources. The direct promotion path for a Senior Application Developer is Technical Lead. Occasional travel may be required but not typical. *NOTE:** This position is not static and **is subject to change as the [Department]’s needs change.* Reports To Director of Client Services, Product Director, Project Manager, Application Developer Manager Department Client Services, Product Essential Responsibilities/ Duties The essential responsibilities of the *Senior Application Developer *are described below. · Responsible for developing all advanced aspects of presentation-tier and middle-tier web applications using Java and J2EE in the WebWork framework. · Assume lead level responsibility as it pertains to overseeing work efforts of junior Developer resources. Qualifications - BA or BS from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or similar program, or comparable education and/or work experience required. - Minimum of 5 years of proven programming experience with Java or Masters degree in lieu of 3 years experience. - Minimum of 2 years working in a UNIX environment - Minimum of 5 years working in a Windows NT/2000 environment. - Relational Database experience (Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, or Oracle) - Minimum of 2 years of J2EE web application development or architect experience - Minimum of 2 years experience with any J2EE application server (JBoss, Weblogic, Websphere, or similar) - Must have knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) including: client requirements gathering, design specifications, solution development and testing of client applications, client support, training, and systems integration.
