Description:
Allstates Consulting Services is seeking a SCOM/VMM Consultant for a
2014 project (10-12 months) supporting our enterprise client. This is
a design and implementation role. The right consultant will have
experience with Microsoft System Center (SCOM) and Hyper-V; Virtual
Machine Manager (VMM) 2012
Project scope includes:
1) SCOM 2007 to SCOM 2012 Migration
a. Design and document the monitoring strategy
b. Design and complete the migration of clients (e.g. how to
migrate the instruction set over from 2007 to 2012)
i.
Assist with deploying and configuring SCOM 2012
ii.
Assist with deploying and configuring VMM 2012
c. Create, document, and test failover scenarios
d. Create PowerShell scripts to manage HA clusters in Windows 2012
i.
Automate node creation and deployment
ii.
Create and manage storage pools
iii.
Data alerting and collection
2) Create a four node Hyper-V cluster
a. Migrate 10 VMware VMs to this environment
3) Validate a Hyper-V/VMM configuration for a separate
environment supporting Citrix
a. (1) VMM instance with (6) Hyper-V hosts
4) Design an off-site DR strategy for Windows VMs running in the
Virtual Machine Manager (VMM)/Hyper-V environment
5) Design and document a highly available Windows 2012 file
server solution.
a. Both on-site and off-site HA solution
b. Note: This environment will not be implemented as part of this
effort, but a complete architecture diagram is needed.
i.
Present current challenges and get Consultant's feedback and
suggestion on design changes.)
6) Private Cloud Activity - Self Service Server Request -
Automated build and completion once approved.
Required Skills / Experience Required:
· SCOM 2012
· Hyper-V ; Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) 2012 advanced
configuration and automation
· Windows 2012 high performance clustering
· Experience supporting mission critical infrastructure
· SCCM 2012 (is a plus, if has experience can be used on other
project tasks )
· Citrix Experience (is a plus, if has experience can be used
on other project tasks )
