Title: Hyperion Essbase Application Architect Right to Hire: No Professional Day Length: 0.8 Contract Duration: 12+ Months Environment: Business Casual Sponsorship Available: No Location: Auburn Hills, Michigan Minimum Requirements: Skills Required: * Minimum 5 years of experience consulting, architecting, building, and supporting Hyperion Planning applications. * Ability to communicate complex concepts in straight-forward business terms to all levels within the organization. * Requires experience with business processes and playing consultative role within technical financial functions * Experience or formal training in Accounting, Finance and/or Logistics, Sales and Operations Planning desirable. * Experience working in Windows and Unix environments and knowledge of Perl a plus. * Hyperion Planning system installation, maintenance and production support experience highly desirable. * Experience in the automotive industry, especially OEMs, a plus. * Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Visio, Word, Excel, Access) * Demonstrated knowledge in SQL, and Oracle 11g Unique Competencies: * Interaction with client staff, including finance stakeholders, IT representatives, and project managers mean that excellent oral and verbal communication skills, fluency in English, and time management skills are a must. * Business Process Architecture driven * Excellent written and oral communication skills, with fluency in the English language a must * This proficiency shall be demonstrated by meeting the following minimum requirements: * One year work Experience in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field * Previous experience in the full Hyperion Planning, Essbase and BI project development lifecycle * Industry experience in any of the following automotive, retail, financial services, or consumer packaged goods * Willingness to pick up new skills or learn new processes as needed Description: Role Title: Hyperion Essbase Application Architect Purpose of Role/Organizational Unit: This role is a staff position with Enterprise Data Management Group. Goal is to provide on-site consulting and technical support for the Hyperion Planning applications (Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Web Analysis, Hyperion Financial Reports, etc) to business users. Functions Performed: The primary responsibilities for this role are focused on providing project based implementation and mentoring services to customers, enhance existing applications and development of new service requests. It includes: Consulting, Participating in Business Meetings, Developing New Service Request from Business Users, Incident / problem management, Environment performance tuning, Project Quality Reviews, Documentation Maintenance. Position Responsibilities Support Responsibilities: * Consult with business users to business processes, define requirements for changes to existing application * Design and implement new analytical applications and cubes or make changes to existing ones, including: * Creation and modification of calculation scripts and/or business rules * Creation and modification of web forms * Creation and modification of reports * Dimension maintenance * Maintain user documentation on analytical business processes supported by Hyperion Planning/Essbase. * Train new employees on above responsibilities as needed or new applications. * Environment and Application performance tuning - including conduct performance testing/tuning, etc. * Project Quality Reviews * Documentation Maintenance * Primary contact coordinating with other IT functions to maintain application and support service levels. * Training and assistance of end users using Hyperion Planning, Essbase and related products (e.g. Business Objects) to solve business problems. * Perform other duties that fall within the services catalog as assigned by the Team Lead * Cross train team members for full knowledge coverage on team * Help users identify and access appropriate data sources.
