*Job Title: Network Engineer - Wireless Deployment and Validation Engineer*

*Location: Portland, OR*

*Duration: 9 Months*





Specifically, this job opening is highly technical and related to
overseeing all engineering activities for client’s wireless networks.
Within Care Delivery facilities, wireless

infrastructure is used to facilitate patient and member care. Today, the
wireless infrastructure consists of the following major components:

•          Voice and Video over WiFi (V/VoWiFi) mobile devices capable of
not only voice and video, but messaging that integrates clinical
applications and workflow.

•          Real-time Location (RTLS) technology (currently 802.15.4 and
802.11) that enables improved clinical workflow, asset tracking and patient
tracking for an

improved patient experience.

•          End-user devices in many shapes and forms. Some of these devices
are proprietary, highly specialized medical devices. Others are
standards-based

platforms requiring engineered security solutions.

•          802.11n technical strategy and engineering activities.

•          Telemetry Patient Monitoring Systems

•          Various types of in-building and dual-mode wireless handsets
used for both voice and message communications.

•          Mobile Carts comprising of the physical mobile furniture and the
technology deployed in these solutions.

•          User applications comprising the applications accessed over the
wireless infrastructure in the service of care delivery (primarily KP
Health Connect).




*Position Duties:*

The Wireless Deployment and Validation Engineer will assist in driving the
wireless network deployments at client facilities. The primary focus is
802.11, but may also

include other RF systems. Activities will include performing RF site
surveys and hands on device measurements in order to develop a solid and
reliable RF

infrastructure to support patient care. Work with the National Facility
Services (NFS) Project Managers and other facility-based personnel to
ensure overall optimal

delivery for RF network deployments. Assist in onsite validation of RF
networks including RF validation, performance testing, stress testing and
documentation and

communication of findings.




*Knowledge Qualifications: * University degree in related field and/or
equivalent years of "Network Engineer" AND Wireless AND Telemetry AND
Clinical



3 years of strong, hands-on engineering in all aspects of wireless:

•          Designs

•          Surveys

•          Analysis/troubleshooting

•          Operations



3 years of hands-on experience with wireless infrastructure products; Cisco
experience preferred.

3 years of experience with enterprise Wi-Fi healthcare deployments.

Thorough understanding of RF fundamentals.

802.11n experience is a plus.




*Preferred Qualifications *

•          Base-level certification in wireless network technologies: CWNA,
CCNA and/or ACMA

•          Product certifications from VoWiFi and RTLS vendors

•          Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication and
presentation skills.

•          Ability to effectively plan and collaborate with others.

•          Ability to present ideas and technical findings to senior
technical personnel and management.

•          Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure
environment.

•          Excellent customer service focus and analytical problem solving
abilities.

•          Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to
detail.

•          Excellent communicator with all levels of staff, both verbally
and in writing.

•          Experience with wireless engineering tools (AirMagnet, OmniPeek,
Cognio, etc.)

•          Wireless troubleshooting methodologies and techniques.

•          Knowledge of Cisco based wireless and networking components.
