Title: Backup Administrator posted on 2014-07-28 15:26:51 Job Description: Requirement ID Role Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills Responsibilities The position is responsible for the configuration, on-going administration, maintenance, and evolution of backup strategies and solutions. Backup Solutions currently utilize several tools for executing “to-disk” and “to-tape” backup strategies for various systems, virtual machines, databases, and user hardware. The Backup Administrator will be responsible for off-site media management and periodic testing of disaster recovery plans. The Backup Administrator actively supports the production database environments and ever increasing multi-fold enterprise data volumes. Specific responsibilities would include: 1. Maintaining and expanding the existing Backup strategy and infrastructure 2. Working directly with colleagues to maintain and evolve the Disaster Recovery Planning, Testing and Response for the Enterprise 3. Leveraging the Backup Infrastructure for Operational efficiency, including data staging, recovery and hardware migration 4. Collaborate with other team members on IT/Operations initiatives, including data center, network administration, backup and disaster recovery efforts and strategies 5. Participating in an on-call production technology support rotation 6.
