*Title: Oracle DBA Duration: 6 Months + Location : **San Diego, CA* *Role name Oracle - Technical Consultant * *Job Description * • 24/7 & weekend support of production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by our business systems • Installing and upgrading the Oracle server and application tools • Maintenance of Oracle database server, replication and client environments • Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system • Creating primary database storage structures (tablespaces) after application developers have designed an application • Creating primary objects (tables, views, indexes) once application developers have designed an application • Provision of support and assistance to development team in the design, development, testing, tuning and implementation of database applications, as necessary, from information given by application developers • Maintaining system security and compliance • Ensuring compliance with your Oracle license agreement • Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database • Maintaining archived data on tape • Backing up and restoring the database • Contacting Oracle Corporation for technical support *Technical Skill set:* *Must have: * 1. In-depth knowledge of Oracle 9i/10g with production support experience in a multi-project environment. 2. In-depth knowledge of SQL and Netezza including tuning. 3. Experience with AIX/Linux in a multi-domain environment including basic commands and shell scripting will be a plus 4. Oracle Recovery Manager, Import/Export (and Datapump), SQL*Loader 5. Oracle performance and tuning skills including server configuration and tracing facilities. 6. Oracle Enterprise Manager. 7. Good working knowledge of job scheduling and monitoring tools. 8. Experience of working with multiple projects/tasks and the ability to prioritize on the fly. 9. Experience of supporting multiple teams within a business 10. Reporting to supervisor daily, weekly and monthly, this includes reports submission *Nice to have: * 1. Oracle Streams and Advanced Replication administration. 2. An interest in data warehousing. 3. Hard working but easy-going manner. 4. Oracle OCP Certification. *Preferred Certification* 1. Oracle Database 11g administrator certified professional 2.
