Job Description:Client & Technology Services - Production Support Analyst
This person will manage all activities for maintenance & enhancement
requests, as well as small project activities, for applications that
support Sun Life U.S. business units.  This includes supporting the
following types of requests:  bugs, enhancements, major incidents, access
requests, audit inquiries, disaster recovery, & project transitions.  The
analyst partners with Development, QA, & Enterprise Services to fulfill all
requests.  Acting as an application subject matter expect, the analyst is
the liaison between the user community & the Service Center support groups.

 Responsibilities
•           Interviews users to collect information about problems
•           Identifies, evaluates, & validates issues, appropriately
escalating to management
•           Participates & provides input for problem resolution & root
cause review
•           Develops workarounds as solutions or short-term fixes
•           Manages intake queues and monitors system activities
•           Develops and maintains all support documentation
•           Manages all tasks associated with project transitions
•           Maintains a high degree of business functional knowledge &
current technologies
•           Provides Input into M&E budget management and business
priorities
•           Provides information to satisfy requests from Audit & Compliance
•           Participates in Disaster Recovery events
•           Looks for ways to improve service levels and reduce operational
costs due to system processes
•           Works with the business units to ensure that technical
solutions comply with regulatory requirements


•           BS/BA degree or equivalent experience with 3– 5 years of
progressive experience in an analyst role, or 3 – 5 years experience
working in a business role using web, mainframe, or client server
applications
•           Must have strong customer service, analytical, &
problem-solving skills
•           Communicates effectively to both technical & non-technical
stakeholders
•           Must be able to work independently & apply analytical skills to
drive issue identification, escalation, resolution & closure
•           Ability to be flexible & participate in an on-call rotation
program to support critical applications
•           Familiarity with Microsoft SQL & XML code a plus
•           Previous exposure to Web Applications and/or Client Server
