Below is the complete job description. * ** ** *Position: Oracle DBA* *LOCATION*: Portland , Oregon *RATE*: $40- $45 maxx *DURATION:* Six Months * * *JOB DESCRIPTION*:DBA - Oracle The position will support multiple projects including GIS, P8, Power Tax, Oracle TOM, SQL TOM Minimal Supervision/General Direction. General direction implies that work on a day-to-day or longer basis is unsupervised. Persons in this role are able to work within broad policies/practices and make most decisions by interpreting broad principles into sound decisions. Problem solving is frequent. Work assignments tend to be more complex. Generally leads but may also perform the function in highly ambiguous, technical or complex situations. *RESPONSIBILITIES:* · Under minimal supervision and at a high level of competency, designs, creates, modifies and maintains complex to highly complex databases with respect to access methods, performance, device allocation, organization, protection and security, and documentation. · Works directly with users to resolve data conflicts and data usage. System-wide responsibility on complex components and/or projects. Persons work is critical to the projects success. · Solves highly complex problems. Consults for other projects. Writes proposals and prices out projects. · Provides knowledge around failure isolation, dynamic load balancing, trouble shooting performance problems, troubleshooting database errors, and able to work with clients on problems they might encounter. · Audits databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. · Works with management to develop database strategies to support organizations needs. · Maintains and monitors the database environments. Creates and implements policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management. Considered a SME.** *REQUIREMENTS: * * * · Strong knowledge of one or more of the following: Oracle, SQL,DB2,and Network Protocols (Two or more). · Excellent customer service skills. · Strong team player. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. · Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving and conceptual skills · Strong project management skills with ability to lead medium to large sized projects. · Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others within and across the organization. · Conceptual knowledge of information technologies and methodologies in midrange and PC computing environments.
