Positions: DB2 DBA Location: St. Louis, MO
Duration: 10 Months Contract Rate: 45/hr Position Description: Experience Level: 4 year degree in IT or related field and 8+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Description: Leads the planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's server-class databases. Consults with and advises senior management and multiple clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction. Handles and leads various large-scale or highly complex data/database management activities including one or more of the following: designing highly complex logical and/or physical databases; leading highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts; developing management policies, procedures and standards; and business requirements identification, analysis and development. Provides mentoring, guidance and general oversight to less experienced staff in a variety of database design, administration and! /or modeling activities. Leads complex projects. The candidate should be extremely familiar with DB2 LUW V9.x, and have experience supporting large data warehouses using the DB2 DPF option. The selected candidate will provide the Brokerage Data Warehouse team with DB2 LUW DBA support of the development and testing of new projects. Some requirements include: Confirm conversion execution runbook - special attention to volume and when runstats need to run Support for Db2 errors, slow load performance - pageable 7x24 Support for application team issues with SQL embedded in Actuate reports and other applications hitting BDW Confirm DB2 DASD usage and estimates Current BDW support handling higher volume requests (DDL review, deployments, etc.) Live conversion support . Liaison to IBM Teleran support The selected candidate will normally work 40 hours per week - but as with production support - on demand page will be required. During the dress rehearsals and live events - dedicated DBAs to be on-site.
