Role: Test Analyst
Duration: 4+ months

Currently, the Division for Blind Services (DBS) and Division for
Rehabilitation Services (DRS) have separate case management applications. DBS
uses a web-based application, TWorks. DRS uses a client server application,
Rehabilitation Services System (RSS) in conjunction with a Buyer Support System
(BSS). DARS is pursuing the development of a single data system to support
both divisions. These applications collect the required information for
preparing state and federal reports. Since these reporting requirements are
often identical and the basic processing of the case management systems work is
similar within both divisions, consolidation has provided the opportunity to
implement one web-based case management system in DARS for consumer services.
The following describes the services an awarded vendor could be asked to
provide while working with the DARS Information Resources (IR) Application
Development & Support Team in developing and maintaining Java based web
applications.
The Scope-of-Work could include, but is not limited to the following tasks
listed below.
Responsible for extensive functional, regression, and system testing of
web-based applications.
Analyzes and reviews system requirements, use cases and other design documents
to gain overall understanding of the functionality of the new application and
determines the appropriate level of testing required.
Performs system testing and works closely with Project Quality Assurance Lead
to ensure application developed meets the defined requirements and passes the
user acceptance testing prior to the application’s release.
Validates defects provided by SMEs and end users.
Writes and maintains test cases using Mercury Quality Center and Excel if
needed.
Records and tracks defects in Mercury Quality Center and Excel, if needed.
Performs system testing of new enhancements with an emphasis on quality.
Assesses and prepares test data per requirements. Assures that all products are
inspected to meet agency standards for quality, security, performance,
usability and other standards.
Communicates with Project Quality Assurance Lead about testing tasks.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Special Requirements: Provide copy of certificate at time of interview.

Experience in software development project(s) and the Software Development Life
Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.

Ability to assimilate input from many different sources and present concise
recommendations.

Ability to ensure compliance with business requirements which includes state
and federal regulations.

Ability to identify problems and develop solutions.

Ability to communicate technical concepts to professional and non-technical
clients.

Ability to conceptually understand and translate business requirements to
technical specifications.

Knowledge of accessibility requirements including basic section 508 testing.

Knowledge of adaptive software including Jaws, ZoomText and Dragon Naturally
Speaking.
Degree or equivalent
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course
work in social work or a related field is generally preferred. Experience and
education may be substituted for one another.
