*Position Title: Software / Systems Engineer* *Location: Hartford, CT*
*Position Number: 8780* *SUMMARY:* The State of Connecticut has asked Hallmark to provide them with a Software Engineer with Systems experience, to act as a project consultant with the Office of the State Treasurer. This role will support Treasury programs by improving IT efficiencies, reducing infrastructure complexity, and maintaining / updating legacy applications. Specifically, this role will include maintenance of existing applications, migration of applications to .Net and SQL Server, and systems maintenance duties. This assignment is expected to run for 3 months, with a possible extension beyond that. *RESPONSIBILITIES:* · Maintain existing applications written in MS VFP 6 through 9 (some of them use a custom framework) · Maintain existing applications in MS Access · Maintain a web new application written in MS .Net using C# and SQL Server · Install and setup MS Visual Studio and SQL Server on a local application server · Migrate existing applications from VFP to .Net and SQL Server · Migrate existing applications from Access to .Net and SQL Server · Assist in the maintenance of a MS enterprise office network if required · Provide maintenance on systems once implemented · Meet with designated contact and understand short and long term business goals related to needs. · Presentation skills; ability to explain and transfer knowledge and mentor other team members. · Prepare periodic status reports. *EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:* · Strong development skills with .Net / C# · 5+ years of development experience in MS Visual FoxPro, Visual Studio, and SQL Server · Experience with SQL Server administration · Strong understanding of MS Access - Proven written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
