*Position Title: SQL Database Developer *

*Location:                   Wethersfield, CT*





The State of Connecticut has asked Hallmark to provide them with a Software
Engineer who has strong experience with SQL Server database development.
This position will work at the Judicial Branch, under the direction of a
Senior Developer, assisting with the conversion of an existing case
management database to a new system.



This is a large project, already in progress. This assignment is expected
to run for at least 6 months, with a possible extension beyond that.





*RESPONSIBILITIES:*

   - Analyze and define source structure (structure of data in the legacy
   system)
   - Analyze and define target structure (structure of data in the new
   system)
   - Perform field mapping (mapping between the source and target structure
   with data cleansing, if necessary)
   - Define the migration process (automated and manual)
   - Develop data extractors and loaders
   - Manage the data conversion process and data push process to the
   various development/production environments
   - Responsible for data management and conversion activities such as Data
   Assessment, cleansing, extracting, migrating and reconciliation of data
   - Create and maintain technical documentation
   - Provide management level statistics and reports to monitor data
   migration progress
   - Investigate, analyze and document reported defects
   - Investigate and rectify technical issues within the ETL process

·         Explain and transfer knowledge both informally and at design and
code review meetings.

   - Prepare regular periodic status reports.



*EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:*

   - 9+ years of SQL Server experience, including SQL Server 2005 through
   2012
   - Significant T-SQL experience, including Triggers, Stored Procedures,
   and functions
   - Good knowledge of ETL concepts, as well as validation and cleansing
   methodology
   - Experience in the design and creation of tables, including the use of
   appropriate data types, indexes and foreign key, default constraints, etc.
   - Solid XML knowledge, including experience in the design and creation
   of XML schema
   - Knowledge of performance tuning techniques
   - Ability to work with a team, and independently, with minimal
   supervision
   - Time management and prioritization skills, as well as a basic
   understanding of project management
   - Experience with Microsoft Office tools
   - Solid analytical skills
   - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
   - Special consideration will be given to candidates who have experience
   developing smart client applications using Microsoft Visual Studio with
   VB.NET language
   - Special consideration will be given to candidates who have a working
   knowledge of Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) framework
