*JOB DESCRIPTION:*
- Our Client is seeking a short term (approx. 6 month) contractor to
provide technical advice to ESC Information Technology management in the
area of network performance and security.
- ESC operates a number of critical network devices to support its
compliant technical security architecture and to provide high availability
and reliability of application host platforms.
- These devices include Cisco content services switches, Cisco and
Hewlett Packard blade server switches, Cisco PIX and ASA firewalls, Cisco
VPN concentrator and ASA VPN concentrator, and Cisco catalyst switches
(6500, 4500, and 3500 series).
- Federal and state efforts to generate employment and workforce
initiatives have required ESC to respond to multiple changes in its host and
network environment.
- These changes affect integration of host, host support, and network
devices.
- This request involves investigation of technical requirements to
determine the optimal design, configuration, and operations of all
associated components that provide network access, security, and hosting of
critical ESC business applications.
- ESC’s network consists of the following.
- Central office VLANs using Cisco Systems 6500 and 4500 series switches
and CWSI, Local office LANs using Cisco Systems 3500 series switches and
hubs, PIX 500 series and ASA Firewalls, VPN services using Cisco 3025 and
ASA VPN Concentrator,
- *DNS:* public- and internal-facing, Content Services Switch for load
balancing and SSL acceleration, TACACS+, HP Proliant p and c series blade
servers with HP and Cisco switches.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

*REQUIRED**:*
- Minimum of two (2) years experience *supporting web content/SSL load
balancing switching, preferably with the Cisco Content Services Switch. *
- Minimum of five (5) years experience *supporting complex, fast
Ethernet, switched LANs.*
- Minimum of two (2) experience *supporting PIX and ASA firewall
administration.*
- Minimum of two (2) experience *supporting ASA VPN services.*
- Minimum of two (2) experience *supporting DNS.*
- Demonstrated experience with *wireless networking with Cisco Aironet
Access Points and Bridges*
