*Position: Sybase DBA* * * *Location: **Jersey City**, NJ*** * * *Duration: 6 months* (8-10 hours will be considered a day) Need someone really strong. Looking for a consultant to help us upgrade our sybase servers from ASE 12.5 to ASE 15.0. The candidate needs to be very strong with sybase and know sql server, The lenght of assigment will be about 6 months. The candidate will be expected to: Perform Production Migrations to Sybase and SQL Server Production support of Sybase and SQL Server. Perform Adhoc requests for sybase and sql server Performance and tuning of sybase at both server and query level Performance and tuning of sql server at both server and query level Trouble shoot and resolve performance issues with ASE 15.0, ASE 12.5.X. The candidate must posses the following skill sets: Significant production experience with Sybase ASE 12.5 Experience with SQL 2005, SQL 2000 Ability to work independently and in a group Ability and willingness to support 24 X7 production support for Sybase and SQL Server. Knowledge and experience with Sybase replication server. The replication experience with replication server uses routes. Very good performance and tuning skills with Sybase. Both at server level and query level. Ability to trouble shoot slowness at server level and query level. Experience with performance and tuning sql server both at server level and query level.
