Title: Sr Technical Analyst - Solaris-Linux
Location: NJ
Duration: 3-6Monthsa
Rate: $DOE
Major Duties:
• Support changes to existing hardware and OS (Solaris & Linux)
infrastructure including patches, users, filesystems, and kernel
parameters.
• Troubleshoot hardware and OS problems including performance tuning.
• Work with database and application teams to gather requirements for
new projects and expansion to existing applications.
• Perform hardware and OS capacity planning for existing services and
provide recommendations to application owners.
• Support existing server infrastructure in an on-call capacity as
part of a team rotation.
• Contribute to Client's Solaris standards discussions and documents.
• Communicate effectively with peer employees and senior management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
Experience:
• Three to five years experience as Solaris and/or Red Hat Linux
systems administrator - at least two in a senior role.
• Experience in designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and tuning
Solaris and/or Red Hat Linux systems in a medium to large enterprise
environment.
• Experience with Veritas Storage Foundation and Cluster Server a plus.
• Experience with VMWare a plus.
• Experience with both Solaris and Red Hat Linux a plus.
Education:
BS/MS in Computer Science / Engineering, or equivalent work experience
in Solaris or Red Hat Linux system administration.
