Job Classification: Oracle DBA Developer Location: San Francisco, CA , LOCALS PREFERRED Duration: 6 month contract with likely extension THIS REQUIREMENT CLOSES VERY SOON Job Description: More than 5 years of practical DBA experience in a large production support environment (Banking/Finance preferred); production support functions such as checking for table space free space, checking for fragmentation, checking for nightly/weekly backup status, checking for ORA-600, ORA-7445 error, dead locks, and creating SRs with Oracle tech support and following up with them; checking statspack. AWR reports to identify system/DB bottleneck areas, wait event tuning, SQL tuning; Oracle 10g experience including migration/upgrade from lower Oracle versions, Oracle streams 2-way replication in 10g setup/configuration/maintenance support and administration, setup/configuration/maintenance of physical and logical standby databases using Data Guard replication, experience with setup/configuration/maintenance of DB backup solutions including Hot backup, RMAN, Shadow Image or BCV solutions; experience implementing and using OEM to monitor databases.
