Database Administrator Summary Duties specializing in the management of Oracle 10g and Sybase databases. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Perform hardware and peripheral device planning. 2. Perform implementation planning. 3. Plan backup and recovery procedures for stated environments. 4. Perform upgrade and enhancement planning for stated environments. 5. Plan performance and capacity management for stated environments. 6. Resolve network and file protocol issues such as File Transfer Protocol, World Wide Web, and Structure Query Language (SQL). 7. Plans and implements upgrades and data conversions for databases and corresponding applications. 8. Troubleshoot client connectivity to web and database servers. 9. Perform database backups and restores to include scheduling job executions. 10. Set up necessary processes for new system interfaces. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
