They will be part information architect and part designer for complex client and Web applications. This position will focus on both the interaction and visual design of user interfaces. It will require close collaboration with product management, information managers, and developers. The individual will be responsible for analyzing, creating, and communicating user workflows, wireframes, visual design treatments, site navigation and architecture, and user interface requirements based on a deep understanding of user needs and tasks gained through user feedback and usability testing and analysis. *•Summary of essential job functions* Work collaboratively with product managers, software engineers, and information developers to create and execute Web site and application design Provide artistic and design vision with a strong focus on usability Design and execute usability testing and analysis Interpret customer need into application and graphic design and drive changes for usability improvements based on user feedback Create, maintain, and update UI wireframes for use cases, requirements and visual designs Document UI specifications for visual designs and collaborate with development staff to ensure implementation of visual and interaction designs Define and maintain visual and interaction design style guides Designing and developing production-ready front-end code for new features and feature enhancements based on requirements from Product Management that are highly usable and meet accessibility standards. Quickly designing and developing front-end prototypes for user testing/validation of new feature development and feature enhancements. Designing and development of interfaces for demonstration of a particular user experience for messaging purposes (e.g. design for a product whose functional requirements do not yet exist). Creating standards-compliant and accessible code and provide guidance to others on meeting accessibility standards. Creating and effectively using interaction design requirements and documentation (e.g., wireframes, sitemaps, etc.). Working with engineering, user interface designers and others to develop and promote best practices. *•Minimum requirements* 2-3 years of experience in usable, on-line interactive design Experience with User Interface Design programs such as Photoshop; Illustrator; Flash; and Dreamweaver (encouraged) The successful candidate will be highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to multi-task over across a number of technology initiatives Ability to meet ambitious deadlines and deliver high-quality work on schedule with multiple projects running simultaneously HTML and CSS Expert Intermediate, prototype level use of JavaScript (full Ajax not required but being able to demonstrate front-end interactions in prototypes is necessary) Demonstrated understanding of how implementation decisions impact user experience in terms of browser and platform compatibility, accessibility, internationalization and performance. Demonstrated leadership skills, communication, analytical and problem solving skills Ability to work independently and with a team and see a project through from start to completion Fluency in written and spoken English *•Qualifications* Mastery of the user-centered design process, the principals of web design, and scalable dynamic GUIs Portfolio showcasing complex and difficult UI challenges with the ability to verbally communicate the sound reasoning for their design decisions Solid examples of process flows, wireframes, mock ups and style guides Expertise in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, ColdFusion, and Web 2.0 Self-starter, customer-focused, detail-oriented, comfortable working on cross-functional teams, and able to handle a highly complex project in a fast-paced environment Ability to initiate and drive complex projects to completion Knowledge and understanding of usability issues and current Web and application trends and best practices 2 - 3 years of industry experience working on complex Web and application designs 2 - 3 years of experience in information architecture.
