Programmer Analyst (Database) The Database Developer is a technical member of the eSystems Development team with the primary responsibility of creating, maintaining, and the administration of database systems, tables, schemas, stored procedures, and SQL Scripts for the product suite. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Design and develop database objects and structures for data storage, retrieval and reporting according to project specifications including the creation, modification, testing, performance tuning, and review of tables, stored procedures, database functions, and triggers • Constantly seeking ways to re-factor and optimize database code and configuration for enhanced performance • Assist in troubleshooting and debugging database bottle-necks and provide performance metrics using database monitoring tools in both development and production environments • Take ownership of identification and implementation of performance and maintenance improvements for the current database design and application interactions in both development and production environments • Document processes and procedures related to the role • Contribute to defining database development project plans, including scoping, estimating, scheduling, and implementation • Work with the different teams in development to gather requirements and implement changes to the databases as required • Work with Quality Assurance Analysts to help create test cases and provide • Create/review strategies and processes to help with the deployment and maintenance of databases • Provide after-hours, on-call support as required • Provide 3rd level support to production issues QualificationsRequired (Experience, Skills, Academic): MUST HAVE POSITION CRITERIA: • University degree in Computer Science or engineering • Expert knowledge and extensive experience with building, administering, and maintaining Microsoft SQL, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, SQL Server 2005, and SQL Server internals • Hands-on database performance tuning and troubleshooting experience and expert knowledge with performance analysis tools • Expert knowledge in Relational Database Design methodologies • Experience with data warehouse and data mart environments • Technically fluent in database programming languages, including T-SQL and PL/SQL • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Good interpersonal and leadership skills NICE TO HAVE POSITION CRITERIA: • Working knowledge of Visual Studio Team System 2008 Database Edition • Knowledge of DTS, SSIS, Analysis Services, and Reporting Services and ETL Tools • Working knowledge of Crystal Enterprise 8/10, and Business Objects 11 • Experience with Agile development methodology • Hands-on experience with various source control tools such as Subversion, Microsoft Team Systems, Microsoft SourceSafe, or similar • Experience with building, administering, and maintaining Oracle and DB2 • Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) Certification Thank you, DBA FYI Center http://dba.fyicenter.com/ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Oracle DBAs" group.
