Title: Database Professional *Location: Pleasanton, CA* *Rate: *Open. *Start: ASAP* *Duration: long term (contract to hire)* *Mid level candidates and local candidates only.* *DB Professional* *Summary* Seeking database professional to help build and maintain a data intensive website. *Requirements* · *MySQL (5.1)* and integration with web applications · *Fundamentals of Linux administration such as paging and swapping, system analysis and tuning* · Moderate skills at administrative scripting: shell, Perl, TK *· Monitoring, backup, restore and statistics * · Replication · *Performance tuning* · Scaling: master-slave and master-master · *Capacity planning and estimation* · Experienced at designing schemas and physical designs · SQL scripting · Min. 5 years experience as a DBA or equivalent · Min.
