Must have good comm. skills Scope of Work: Our client is looking for a qualified Ruby on Rails developer to help design and build a number of interactive web applications for schools, districts, states and the federal government. The developer will work directly with interactive producers to gain a strong understanding of the problem domain and to iteratively refine the applications as they are built. He or she will work with the entire application stack, from helping to design the database and building sophisticated model classes, to writing templates, to layering on a richer user experience using with the jQuery JavaScript library. While they have designers on staff to do the heavy lifting, a working knowledge of CSS will be useful. Qualifications: a.. Comfortable working in UNIX-like environments, particularly Linux and Solaris. b.. Knowledge of the Ruby language, object-oriented programming. c.. Experience developing and deploying Ruby on Rails applications. d.. Must have developed at least 2 Ruby sites for publication e.. Database design and SQL experience (MySQL and SQL Server directly applicable). f.. Strong HTML, XHTML, and CSS experience. g.. Experience working in a team environment; friendly, outgoing manner. h..
