Users are putting new jobs into the system and there is a backlog of system improvements that the team would like to make, some of them substantial. The software engineer will play an important role in the development of new releases and in platform upgrades. Critical skills and knowledge: -Good understanding of Infrastructures/Platforms. Significant experience designing and implementing JAVA applications using JAVA and other J2EE elements. Testing experience both as a tester and in supporting testers. Experience designing and executing rigorous test plans. -Good understanding of DNS, Firewalls, UNIX, Networks, NFS etc. Important skills and knowledge: Web Administrator experience including configuring web servers and deploying applications (BEA WebLogic preferred). -Quick detective work and decision making abilities to resolve production problems. -Care in dealing with the production system and knowledge of CM tools and practices to assist in this carefulness. Familiar with build process for Web Development. *Skill Set* * * Experience designing and developing applications. 7 Experience gathering and analyzing requirements from users and producing system specifications. 5 Experience in object oriented technology. 5 Experience evaluating and developing various technologies, including client/server and multi-tiered architectures, and database architectures and structures. 3 Experience in related disciplines such as data modeling, data warehousing, distributed processing, utilization of tools for data modeling and logical and physical database design, software integration and/or security issues and techniques. 5 Experience using a variety of software building methods requiring knowledge of standards in open systems, communications, and hardware architectures. 2 Experience as a technical leader of development staff.
