**** Certified Consultant are preferred *** * Required Skills/Experience (Skills that the successful candidate(s) must have) Senior-level Cognos 8 developer that can take up the responsibility for all Cognos-related activities, including working with users to design dashboard/reports, working with other project teams to configure shared Cognos environment across multiple environments (dev/test/prod), defining Cognos data models in Framework Manager, developing various types of reports, and deploying reports to test and production. Candidate will be the only Cognos developer on project team, so must be able to work entirely on her/his own. Candidate will be required to join immediately. Required qualifications are as follows: Report Design: Excellent analytical and report design skills for creating detailed dashboard and report design from high-level specifications, including visual layouts, master-detail and drill-down/drill-through relationships, report filters (e.g. drop-down lists, from/to date ranges etc.), sorting options etc. Ability to create visualizations for reports from business requirements, using productivity tools like Word, Excel and Visio. User Interaction: Ability to work independently with users for design finalization, and to assess user requirements and advise on technical feasibility during user meetings. Framework Manager: Experience with installing Framework Manager, connecting to various data sources, and creating Cognos data model(s) using Framework Manager consistent with the reporting requirements and the data mart (star-schema) database design Report Development and Deployment: Expertise in developing reports of varying complexity, including master-detail and drill-down/drill-through reports, multi-level aggregate views/reports (e.g. salesperson - sales manager - regional manager - country manager views of sales data); applying security to reports and to control user views; developing burst reports Administration: Experience with setting up project/folders across multiple environments (development, test, production); sharing environments with other Cognos project teams; performance tuning of Cognos environment and reports General: Good communication skills, must be able to speak up and present report designs to users, and discuss user requirements and Cognos limitations with users.
