You will work closely with the sales team to present solutions to customers' unique requirements. This position requires a dynamic, hard-working and ambitious individual, with good oral and written communication skills*. Individuals will also possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills and have experience project managing storage solutions. Consulting experience with strong customer interaction skills is a must.* *Essential Functions*: Overall scope of this position includes planning and administering major portions of the implementation and engineering effort including: - Designing/architecting major components - Task management - Personnel identification - Client deliverables - Communication with clients and management *Specific responsibilities include:* * *- Scope and write detailed Statements of Work - Engage in sales team activities to scope service deliverables with ability to translate business issues into NetApp deliverables - Project manage engagements - Deliver on consulting tasks (e.g., installation and configuration of 3rd party applications) - Contribute to the improvement or enhancement of NetApp consulting best practices *Job Requirements Requirements**:* * *- Specialty in SAN and NAS Data Migration - Proficiency in two of the following NetApp Specialty Solutions: - SAN, Exchange, Databases (Oracle, SQL), DR/BC, Compliance or Grid Computing - Strong knowledge of protocols including: - TCP/IP, NFS, SMTP, SNMP, FTP, HTTP - RAID, Fiber Channel, SCSI, DLT *must be Strong*. - In-depth knowledge of Windows, Unix and/or System Administration skills on products such as NetApp, SUN, HP, IBM, EMC *- 6 to 8 years of consulting and/or project management experience implementing NetApp specialty solutions. *- Prior consulting experience including providing strategic and tactical planning for data management and delivery systems. - Broad exposure to a variety of technologies/concepts in a distributed environment. - Experience in project managing storage solutions. - Excellent analytical/problem solving abilities, leadership and sales skills. - Excellent verbal and written communications skills, presentation, customer, business and negotiation skills. - Direct people management experience with the ability to drive the activities of multi-person customer, partner and NetApp consulting teams. - Drive the selection and business negotiation with consulting partners. *- Up to 50%+ travel required. * *Responsibility and Interaction: * - Responsibility: - The tasks this individual is responsible for are often unstructured, have wide implications and there are multiple outcomes. - This individual will apply broad expertise or unique technical/industry knowledge in solving problems that are unique and extremely complex given time, budget and resource constraints. - Demonstrate leadership and vision in determining and driving strategy decisions. *Interaction: * - This individual must work effectively with staff to vice-president level employees within the function, across functions and with external parties. - Limited supervision is provided, as this individual can operate, drive results, and set priorities independently. - The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert. - To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through leadership and influencing multiple individuals and groups. - Often acts as mentor or facilitator.
