*Principal Support Engineer - Primary Duties*

This is a senior staff position within the Applications Support team
reporting to the Application Support Manager. The individual will
collaborate with product teams, operations personnel, product managers,
engineering groups and strategic partners to define and design based on
requirements including architectural, OSS, performance, scalability, etc.
This individual will provide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of
application engineers serving as a point of escalation and a technical
authority.

product provisioning system based on a BEA Weblogic 9.2 & 10 platform

indirect or direct management responsibility

*Minimum Qualifications:*

   - 8 yrs Java experience combining development, testing and
   troubleshooting
   - 7 years of direct support experience with accountability for
   availability
   - 5 years combined design and support/administration experience in BEA
   Weblogic Server
   - 2 years combined design and support/administration experience in
   Service Oriented Architecture, BEA  Aqualogic BPM and Amberpoint SOA
   Governance products.
   - 8 yrs combined development & support of complex high volume
   transactional systems- this is referring to the type of background from
   where they came
   - 10 years of combined programming/scripting experience in any of the
   common languages such as C++, Perl, Shell etc- this really means (when
   they mention C++) that the candidate have deep experience w/OO Programming.
   - 2 years LDAP or X500 experience – at least exposure to it
   - 5 years integrating Weblogic environments with OSS platforms- nice to
   have
   - 5 Years development or support experience with Oracle and SQL- be able
   to look at the back end and know if it is working or not
   - 7 years of Linux or Unix experience, Solaris preferred- must have
   developed applications in this environment in the past
   - Experience and comfort with common networking technologies and
   protocols such as DNS, DHCP, UDP, TCP/IP- understanding of networking
   technologies
   - Familiarity with common network elements such as firewalls, routers,
   and load balancers- any infrastructure mentioned here, would be a plus
   too
   - 2 years XML messaging- this is fairly important
