*Title: Senior Quality Assurance Analyst - Sr. Test Automation Engineer* *Duration: 3 months+* *Rate: 40/hr* *Location: Omaha NE* * Description The Sr. Test Automation Engineer's position is a hands-on automation engineering role with a primary focus on leading the implementation of our automated regression test framework. In addition, the qualified candidate will to plan, architect, design, and deploy effective test suites and regimes for in-house product development, software application development, and information system launches. This individual will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate, verify, communicate, and resolve systems/software application issues through careful testing in order to maximize the quality and benefits of IT investments and initiatives. Responsibilities · Architect and design test automation frameworks in collaboration with the Testing team and Development teams. · Evaluate, plan, design, develop, and maintain test scripts using a framework for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles. · Ensure that testing activities will allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues. · Create and execute test scripts, cases, and scenarios that will determine optimal system performance according to specifications. · Automate existing manual test cases in collaboration with QA team members. · Research new technologies, develop cutting-edge automation and provide product enhancements and/or recommendations when necessary. · Review, maintain and improve current automated software test methodologies and processes · Conduct all types of application testing as needed, such as integration, system, regression, load, and acceptance testing. · Apply automation tools for all types of application testing. · Analyze formal test results in order to discover, document and resolve defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws. · Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications. · Analyze application documentation and technical specifications to determine its intended functionality. · Ensure that new software meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications. · Produce reports and documentation for all testing efforts, results, activities, data, logging, and tracking. · Coordinate with software engineers to assist with quality assurance, program logic, and data processing. · Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management. · Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-testing best practices. Position Requirements · Four-year college diploma or university degree in software engineering or computer science, and/or 8 years equivalent work experience. · Minimum 2 years of experience with scripting, VBScript preferred. · Minimum 3 years of experience with Testing Automation using Quick Test Professional, including · Heavy VB Scripting - creation & maintenance · Parameterization · Checkpoints & Data Validation. · Data driven and Keyword Testing · Quality Center Organizational skills · Linking test cases to requirements · 4 years direct experience as a test engineer for major application integration and/or major application product release, with at least 2 years experience with web applications. · Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software testing solutions. · Strong knowledge of system testing and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies. · Direct hands-on experience with automated testing tools, preferably LoadRunner and QTP. · Working knowledge of programming languages, and relational database systems, including SQL query development. · Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems. · Working knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards. · Self directed with a high degree of initiative, ability to perform with minimal oversight and the ability to understand complex applications and design and develop automation test harnesses. · Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures. · Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives. · Excellent written and communication skills including tact and diplomacy to maintain a cooperative relationship with development and business entities. · Excellent listening and interpersonal skills. · Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. · Highly self-motivated and directed. · Keen attention to detail. · Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities. · Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. · Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. · Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
